Building Communities of Practice

Partnerships are at the heart of everything I do.

Throughout my career, I have worked to build meaningful relationships among scholars, students, museums, archives, libraries, heritage organizations, community groups, and research institutions. These collaborations create opportunities for shared learning, mutual support, and the development of innovative solutions to common challenges.

Cultural Heritage Imaging-Related

My current work includes partnerships throughout North America, Europe, South America, and North Africa. Together, we are creating new approaches to cultural heritage imaging, professional training, collections research, and public engagement. These collaborations are not simply project-based; they are designed to foster long-term networks that support continued growth, knowledge exchange, and collective problem-solving.

Curatorial and AI-Centered Convenings

In addition to developing international partnerships, I actively convene communities of practice at regional and national levels. Through initiatives such as the Central New York Humanities Corridor working groups Curating the Middle Ages and AI, Archives, and Museums, I bring together faculty, museum professionals, archivists, librarians, graduate students, and public humanities practitioners to share expertise, explore emerging questions, and build new collaborations across institutions and disciplines. These gatherings create spaces for critical discussions about curatorial practice, cultural heritage, and the evolving role of technologies—including artificial intelligence—in how we create, interpret, preserve, and share knowledge.

University-Museum Endowed Partnership

As coordinator of the Rochester Institute of Technology–Genesee Country Village & Museum partnership, I steward an endowed initiative established in 2016 that brings together faculty, students, museum professionals, and community partners to advance interdisciplinary research, experiential learning, public engagement, and innovation across the humanities, sciences, and creative disciplines.

My Role

My role is often that of a convenor and connector—bringing people together, facilitating conversations, and helping build the relationships that make ambitious projects possible. I have found that the most innovative and meaningful work frequently emerges at the intersections of disciplines, institutions, and communities.
